Company history:

Ohmic Solutions was started in Cape Town in 1998, born out of a passion for electronic gadgets. Initially we focused on audio power amplifiers, large speaker design and a few telephony interface products. We then started to look at devices that simplified daily life. The resultant move into home automation bore the first GSM-based home alarm design in South Africa which allowed the user to remotely communicate and control any device in the home from anywhere in the world. The next move was into PC interface products and with the introduction in South Africa of the FICA / FAIS Act requiring all authorised financial services providers and representatives to record all telephone conversations with clients, we developed the USB Telephone Speech Recorder. This product was revamped in 2005 / 2006 and now boasts a simultaneous record and playback feature - yet another first in South Africa!
